iPhone vs. Blackberry

Which is better - iPhone or Blackberry??  Can someone summarize it for me?

By the way, the mobile phone world nowadays seems to have been monopolized by these two brands.  The rules of the game have changed completely.  Nowadays, it's all about 3G, internet surfing, multi-tasking, instant messaging etc.  I wonder what will happen to other brands like Nokia, Samsung, SE, Motorola, LG etc??  Will they all die out soon??

Someone (like me) who carries a phone just with a primary purpose of making phone calls, is out.  It seems that nowadays people carry an iPhone or Blackberry to tell others that 'Hey I'm in, you are out!!' or just to show others that 'My phone is so cool that I have to keep on playing with it and have no time for you...'

Today a coursemate of mine told me that she saw even a lady cleaner is also carrying a blackberry inside the toilet.

Since all my kiasu frens are now carrying either an iPhone or Blackberry, I feel so left out with my SE... * my brain shrinks liao *... so I'm gonna get myself a new phone... most likely an iPhone, which has a bigger screen... 

Just hope that my kiasu frens won't be so kiasu to 'upgrade' themselves with an iPad (of course that's not a phone anymore) with a much bigger screen... (imagine everyone carrying a piece of big screen everywhere...haha).

Stressed.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner. I suddenly started to 'feel' it today... which makes me stressed.

I decided to stay back in Kuching this year and not going back to my hometown. I didn't really plan to celebrate it, instead I just wanted a quiet and peaceful CNY, hiding at home watching TV or DVD. That's why I didn't even bother to buy new clothes, new shoes etc, or any CNY cookies, drinks, candies.

Then suddenly today I received a lot of CNY invitations from colleagues and friends, asking me to join them for group visiting. I accepted a few. Then suddenly I thought of... if I'm going to other's house, then they will come to my place too... Shit, then I'd better start doing something, and that something include doing the following in these remaining 3 days:

1. House cleaning - vacuum, mop, wipe, dump, tidy up etc.
2. Buy food, drinks, candies
3. Find myself some proper CNY 'costumes'
4. Decorate my house

There are many other things, such as getting some of the bulbs changed, painting my wall... omg, it's a huge project!!!! I'm stressed now.

Reminder to myself: Even though there are many things going on everyday which tend to divert my attention, do not forget to monitor market & investment closely.

Tips to all: Please do the same thing, and thank me if you catch the timing for investment right this round. (Hint: Market cannot be forever trending down...)

Raining cats and dogs

Today's plan: Have breakfast with 3 friends then go shooting pix together
Results: Event cancelled
Reason: Raining

It has been raining cats and dogs lately. Basically it rained the whole day yesterday till now, caused me to cancel all my outdoor plans. That's why you see me in front of the computer :(

Another friend is getting married next weekend, I hope the weather will improve. Otherwise the poor bride may end up soaking her gown in water.

'Kaki'

I found out why I am constantly busy busy busy. Well, I have too many 'kaki' (activity partners). I have :

1. tennis or table tennis 'kaki'
2. photography 'kaki'
3. club 'kaki' (also the outing 'kaki')
4. karaoke 'kaki'
5. lepak 'kaki' (coffee gang)
6. lunch 'kaki'

Still, I am planning to look for yoga & fitness 'kaki', as well as good traveling 'kaki' (this is really difficult to find).

My requirement for 'kaki' in general is quite simple, they have to enjoy that activity, got time to kill and not expecting too much from me. Some new 'kaki' joined the group but very soon, these people started to be too keen and asked me a lot of personal questions, or asked me to help them with this and that... just endless expectations on me.

Well, I must say I can't handle this, in fact I hate it, especially if I don't know them very well apart from going out together on the activity events. In that case, I will distance myself from these people 'cos I just hate to entertain expectations. Don't ask me why, I was borned this way I guess. To the people I like, I do not mind to do whatever for them. However for those who I sense that there are a lot of expectations or too keen, I will freak out and just run away.

Yeah, I am mean.

Wait lah!...

I like to take photos but when it comes to posting them, I'M JUST SO LAZY!!!

Posting them on blogspot is just so troublesome, the sequence always jumble up, so it takes time to arrange them properly. Just by thinking of posting makes me fed up. So I chose to procrastinate instead haha...

So wait till the 'feel' is right, then I'll post the rest of the pix that I took on my trip to NZ, as well as the latest Sematan pix. By the way, I like the latest Sematan trip, you guys are so crazy and cute, but I hate those sand fly bites on my arms, as well as my suntanned skin. Well, I'm going to be bimbo Jou's bride's maid in 2 weeks time... what to do with those marks on my arms and the 2-color skin?!! Stressed...

Hello from NZ

It's been a week I'm away from home. I was in Sydney for few days, now I'm in Christchurch, NZ. Well, I didn't have a lot on my agenda this trip, just resting most of the time, going to supermarket, walking around downtown, cooking and eating, playing Wii at home.

Today I went to Akaroa with my family and Dom, took some pix by the beach. Just now I went for a movie with my bro and Dom, 'Quantum of Salace' was just so so. My bro and I shared a lot of common opinion about it. It has a bit of everything from romance, friendship, action and international team but it was messy.

Tomorrow both my bro and Dom are on leave, so I plan to go shopping with them. Then later at night, got a coffee date with a friend who I haven't met for years. That's all so far on my agenda tomorrow, I really haven't planned much.

Christchurch has changed quite a lot since my last trip here, I'm now trying to remember some new areas and streets. Downtown is still the same though. A bit sad to see some of my old-time-frequently-visited shops disappeared.

Oh well, I will try to post some pix probably tomorrow if I have time. I found that carrying a DSLR around is quite inconvenient, so not sure if I'll still bring it around, a bit lazy.

Breakaway...

Today I woke up knowing that tomorrow is still a work-free day, so as the day after tomorrow... for two weeks... hahahaha that makes Jo a happy girl.

Packed my clothes, copied songs to my MP3, selected magazines to bring along, charged my camera battery etc... one more day and I'm going away.

Frens, will you be bored without me??... What if I disappear totally one day, will you all miss me??

Oh well, will see, probably will still blog, if I get to play with my brothers' or Dom's computer.

Yippee!!

Today is my last day at work... before my 2 weeks vacation to Sydney and Christchurch.

I was working in a speed of light non-stop since early morning till late in the evening, cleared most of the open items, passed down the items that need follow up. Somehow it seems that those engineers know I am going on vacation so they kept submitting requests for my approval, made me so busy whole day.

Anyway, I'm free now!! In fact, I did not plan anything for this trip, may be just bring my camera and make this a photography trip. This is the first time I go on vacation without really thinking much, guess it's b'cos I have been to those places before.

Well, I hope I can at least get some rest and have a good break from work to see some trees and flowers back at my 2nd home Christchurch. Of course, I'm also looking forward to see my brothers and Dom.

How now??

Stock market continues to plunge, more and more big companies announced retrenchment, higher and higher unemployment rate world wide. No matter what each country's government did, situation is just not improving. The big recession has already come... So what's ur plan, my friends?

Tips: It's almost good time to invest but wait for few more months. For now, stay put....... for more info, pay me $ then I'll share with u more tips... kakaka.

Almost say goodbye to you all...

Did you ever feel very close to death before? Well, I just did today.

My colleagues and I took the initiative to setup the Christmas tree at our department today. I saw a lady having trouble to plug the lighting supply into the socket of an extension cord. She was using a pair a scissors while trying to plug the supply into the socket and I saw her holding the metal side of the scissors instead of the plastic side, so I warned her not to do so and advised her to hold the plastic side.

After a while she still didn't manage to plug in, so I offered to take over the task. There were quite a few lighting supplies to be connected to the sockets. After I plugged in two and was trying to plug in the third one, there was a small 'explosion' at the socket, the metal part of the scissors that I was holding turned black and the socket too. The power supply of the whole floor also tripped. It seems that one of the switches was shorted and has leakage. Even though the switch was off, there was current passing through.

After a few seconds only I realized I was that close to being electrocuted. Everyone there was also shocked.

So friends, do treat me well when you still can, okay!!... and, don't ever take life for granted.

Busy, busy, busy...

Some of you may be wondering what I was doing lately... Well, I was and am still busy busy busy - both work and personal life wise.

Okay, a brief update if you do care to know:

Last month, there was an ISO/TS audit in my company by external auditors, followed by few customers' audits/visits which came with few heavy discussion sessions on new requests etc... This week, I have to conduct few briefing sessions on a new system to all the users, so I need to prepare the briefing materials in the past few weeks. Then there are endless requests from my internal customers as usual...

Next I will have to contact all my customers on the new system and be prepared to answer all kinds of queries from them. I also need to wrap up all the customers' requests from their visits, then review with management and feedback to customers within the next 1-2 weeks. Next week, another big German customer will come for audit, followed by its end customer's visit in the following week... my goodness.

Apart from work, Pig Pig's family just came from Hong Kong last week for 1 week holiday. I volunteered to be the driver to bring them around. Lastly, I was busy on my photography hobby - reading articles and practising.

Time is just not enough lately, both my mind and hands are occupied most of the time... I keep dreaming of a life without work, but this dream just never seems to come true in real life. What to do?? How I wish I am married to a very rich guy who can take care of me, at least financially so that I can quit my job but, I don't think I even have time to meet such guy. What a deadlock situation... help me~~~

A small round round world... you just never know what is gonna happen next...

I got a call from a friend today, who is now the foundry director for one of our biggest customers. I was surprised that he called me up, and even more surprised when he offered me a job as the Quality Manager in his company, i.e. our current customer... it's... OMG!!!

The job requires me to relocate to K.L. which is one of the last places I want to move to. So my mind was telling me 'No' but dunno why, my heart kept laughing out loud, especially when I imagine all these big big bosses in my current company have to bow to me next time... wow the world is just so small and round nowadays!

I felt even more like laughing when I thought about a guy who slammed his phone on me today due to some job issue (a very rude person indeed). This guy is now handling the products for exactly, that customer. Imagine if I work for that customer tomorrow, how would he feel?? Probably very scared....hohohohohohohohohoho wahahahaha.....

My heart is just singing so happily today, even though I will most likely turn down the job offer.

Guess I am sick... I am sick of my job to be more exact... hahaha.

I'm so happy today. Guess what, I finally got my line at home fixed!!! After months and months of 'line-less' life due to some stupid connection issue. Oh well, I'm finally back online.

Reasons for not updating my blog recently...

A lot of friends asked me why I haven't been updating my blog lately... Well, the answers are:

1) I'm too busy with too many web sites to surf online everytime. See, besides my blog, I'm also checking >5 other blogs on regular basis and when others are actively updating their page, I have to spend more time to read there.

2) There comes other of my network sites such as Multiply, Friendster and latest FaceBook which I'm also checking on regular basis and they are linked to endless numbers of other interesting sites. There are just more and more people joining the network everyday.

3) I'm learning Photography recently and there are just endless good sites to explore and so many beautiful photos to admire...

4) On top of that, I have regular MSN and Yahoo Messenger chat friends who would buzz me once they see me appear online.

So you see, I can't possibly have much time to spend on maintaining my blog anymore... especially after my blog pal Dom is gone due to stupid China banned blogging few months ago...

Hahahahaha... so many excuses, actually I'm just lazy okay!

JO IS BACK TO BLOGGING

HEY GUYS, I’M BACK!!

So where was Jo for the past 2 months?? What has she been doing???... What a mysterious M.I.A....

Well long story… My dad collapsed out of a sudden and was hospitalized in Kch on 31st August. There I was extremely occupied for 2-3 weeks in Sep. Fortunately he survived and is now back to my hometown. Thank GOD for saving his life but poor dad has to live with dialysis 3 times a week from then on… I was very sad and down indeed to face this outcome.

Anyway I’ve learned to leave all the sadness and regrets behind and let life goes on...

So I was busy busy busy on most of the following weekends, including a pre-planned trip (since months back) to KL with Pig Pig to see her favorite – Jacky Cheung’s concert, followed by another pre-planned trip (since the beginning of the year) to Macau-HK with Pig Pig, Hoonster, Elaine and Dom. At the same time, work keeps me occupied, especially after taking leave to take care of my dad and after all the trips...

So that’s in short what happened to me in the past 2 months.

Now, I’m in Germany on business trip.

Yeap, my life is just so unpredictable lately. I basically don’t know where I will be and what I will be doing in the next few weeks or months... oh well, we will see.

Super Duper Mind Power

I just wrote in my previous blog “聽電台 MY FM 說林宇中八月底會回古晉開個唱, will try to get a ticket to go.”

Guess what, the second day someone gave my housemate 2 tickets to 林宇中 mini concert in Kuching on 26th August (i.e. tomorrow)… hehe, thanks to my mind power!!

When I told my housemate about it, she went like “Wow, that’s super powerful!!” cos’ I have told her before about few incidents, where my mind power seems to be getting more and more scary.

There she begged me to wish for Jacky Cheung to come and hold a concert in Kuching… Hey hey… that’s going a bit too far off lah.

That reminds me that I could start thinking about bumping into someone like my Kimura… hehe, so excited to just thinking about it. Or to quit my job and still be able to live a good life with $$$ keeps flowing into my account like water... Or to have a never aging look... hohohoho...bahahaha...

Pimpers

Pimpers are breaking out on my face these few days... am I stressed? I don't think so, just a bit bored with everything recently. Is it time to leave Kuching for a new place??? Or may be it's time for vacation. ... Anyway, I'll be going to K.L. and Macau next month. Then probably will go to Germany in October on business. Well, it's time to recharge myself.

屬於我一個人的一天

今天原本計畫早上起來去吃麥當勞早餐, 結果醒來一看已經是下午一點鐘, 心裡頓時很失望, 又很悶. 換好衣服, 看到housemate Pig Pig, 不知為何覺得很煩, 總之今天決定了不應酬任何人, 不遷就任何人口味, 只想靜靜的一個人找尋屬於我的個人空間. 誰, 我也不想理.

結果還是去了麥當勞, 打包午餐, 一路開車一路吃. 閒逛了一會兒, 決定去買想買的 DVD & CD. 找了很久找不到林宇中的專輯, 幾間店都說賣完了. 但是我找到了 曹格, S.H.E. 和 王力宏 的新牒. 還是沒找到梁洛施的 DVD - Isabella. 之前我已經跑遍了很多店都找不到. 今天其中一間店的年輕老闆告訴我已經幫我去訂了, 但是還沒貨. 原來, 他還記得…我只問過他一次, 是幾個星期前的事了… 嗯, 那就交給他辦吧!

在車上放了新 CD 來聽. 超喜歡 S.H.E. 的新歌 ‘聽袁惟仁彈吉他’. Ella rap 得很棒, hebe 唱得很好聽. 我以前不喜歡 S.H.E., 不過最近愛上了她們的 Rap, 很 cute, 很自由自在, 在舞台上也很放. 最喜歡Ella, 很有性格. Hebe 很漂亮. 我還是不喜歡 Selina, 沒甚麼特別.

曹格的假音太棒了, 比女人還高, 他很 R&B, 可惜長得不帥, 還很 ‘抱歉’… 需要時間習慣他的醜. 王力宏 no doubt 很帥, 新專輯我聽了幾首, 可惜沒有很感動… 需要時間習慣他的新風格.

一個人的我今天感覺很舒服, 我喜歡這種很久沒有的任性.
