My mum and bro are in town since yesterday, to attend my sister-in-law’s brother’s wedding last night. Last night after the dinner, I drove them to Parkson for the 5x bonuslink Grand Sale. As Mother’s Day is coming, I offered my mum a gift which she got to pick it herself and of course, she went for fragrance. I guess it’s ‘like mother like daughter’, we both like to buy fragrance and bags a lot.
In my wardrobe, I have a compartment for fragrance that I currently kept >10 bottles of different (used and new) fragrance. On top of one of my another wardrobes, I kept >30 bags, barely use, only there to occupy my storage.
Let me see, I have got my mum quite a few bottles of perfume before - Miracle, Dolce Vita, Dune, Oui, S’pore Girl, EA’s Green Tea, Burberry’s Touch etc. She likes flowery smell which isn’t my type…. phew. I like Romance, Dolce Vita, Allure, Gucci Rush (Summer), Light Blue. That’s good, means she can’t just ‘snake’ from my collections (she used to ‘snake away’ a lot of my lipsticks last time till I switched to just use lip gloss…hehehe).
Last night we went to try out a few perfumes, she ended up picking Ralph from RL which I think is not bad. I got for her another miniature for Romance which I myself wish I can have one for traveling…
Last night at home, we talked about bags, I showed her my latest few, she was eyeing on one of them, her eyes sparked when she heard me asked ‘You like this one is it?’, then I said ‘No, I’m not gonna give you this…sorry hahahaha’…. Somehow I just love teasing her. Then I sprayed some other of my perfumes on her hands and arms before she went to sleep. Anyway, she was happy last night.
Well, my mum is so cute, I just love to see her smile. Happy Mother’s Day (in advance), my dearest mum!

My new PC.
I've just got my new PC at work, much faster than my old one. Just when I was happy playing with it, I realized I didn't do a good cleanup on my previous PC before I returned it to IT. Even though I have deleted all the data on the C & D drive, I left a lot of my personal files on the desktop, a lot of photos, also didn't clear the IE favorite list which includes all my fren's blog sites, stocks links, bank links.... opps.
That's something about PC, when you are so used to using ur PC, you tend to store lots of your personal info in it. When it's down and u need to send it for repair, make sure u back up the data and do a thorough cleanup before hand it out. Ppl nowadays are just too curious & kepo about other's biz... do beware.

Forever tasks full...
Dunno since when I've become a 'tasks full' person. My working days are usually occupied with office work, my weekends are often full of events and tasks to complete.
Let me c, for example, what did I do today? Today is a working Saturday. I started my day going for Laksa early in the morning, then went to the bank to bank in some cheques, then to MBKS to pay my house assessement, to SESCO to pay my electricity bill (both assessment and elec can't be paid online with my bank online service). By then it's almost noon, and I realized I forgot to order two important bank drafts that I need to post by today, so I rushed to the nearby bank but the stupid bank told me I'll have to do it at the branch that I opened my account, so I rushed to my branch but I was 2 minutes late and it was closed. Shitty Malaysian banking system... I was angry but it's my own fault, only myself to be blamed.
By noon, it started to rain, I went to the Income Tax office to practise as a good citizen by paying my remaining tax payable, then I went to the post office to post the tax statement, it was still raining heavily... Next stop, I went to my travel agency to pick up my air ticket to S'pore next month and the ticket to H.K. in June, at the same time pick up some Free & Easy hotel guide. After that I stopped by a supermarket to buy some sugar and a mop. Why buying a mop?? Well, my mum was in transit to Kch from N.Z. today, so I'll have to clean up my house, mop the floor before I picked her up from the airport at 3 p.m.. So after buying the mop, I went home to mop my floor. I was so tired that I took a quick shower.
By the time I reached the airport, I was 15 minutes late and saw my mum standing there staring at me... oops... by the way she looks as cute as usual. So I drove her home in my new 'prince' which she hasn't met before. At home, I made coffee and we have biscuit 'be-teh-so' that I bought from Malacca last week, also have some 'bak gua' that I bought from KL last weekend. Then I showed her my awards and some project photos on the computer. We watched the CD of her N.Z. trip too. Mum passed me a an All Blacks tee that my bro in N.Z. bought me, not bad but it's long sleeve. Also I 'snaked away' some yummy chocolate from her bag. By 4:40 p.m. I drove her back to the airport to catch her flight back to home town.
Then I sent my car for a car wash and sat at the car wash place drinking coke with Pig Pig for 1/2 hour. We decided to have soupy meal for dinner. After dinner I went home, went online reading info about Women Members Leadership, the District Chair post that I was appointed in the incoming term. Read, replied and sent some emails, wrote a blog about my Malacca trip. Then I sat down planning for my upcoming events and preparation items. Man, another long list to go...
Just now when I was listening to jazz music at my living room and having a bowl of soup, I suddenly realized that I was always so full of tasks. All I have for rest today was just that 20 minutes time before sleep listening to my favorite jazz. Am I really that busy or I'm just poor in time management??... I wonder.

THE TOP CLUB
Well, the Stressident took 6 days off (14-19 Apr) went to Malacca for a big L Convention and KL for shopping, together with her were another 5 members, including her 2 cute friends Pig Pig and Bui Bui. First 3 days in Malacca, there were many L activities - the DG Appreciation Dinner, the Convention Opening, the big Parade around Malacca with trishaws and vintage cars, Fellowship Dinner, the Convention forum and the Grand Dinner.
Out of the Stressident's expectation, the club was awarded with the Top Club Award during the DG Appreciation Dinner, as well as Outstanding President, Outstanding Secretary, Outstanding Treasurer, Meaningful Service Project, District Contribution awards. All together 6 awards, and 8 District Fellows. Wow, impressive isn't it?!! The Stressident was a bit stunned during the announcement.
Well, it's a good report card received for a year of hard work by the members. What the Stressident felt really proud about is that this young club can actually go an extra mile ahead of others, with very limited fund and network to start with. This proves that with good planning, kind intention and good team work, we can move forward fast, efficient to achieve our common goals. Yes, we can do it!
Few days after coming back, to the Stressident's another surprise, the new DG elect from Sabah called (this morning) to appoint her as one of his District Chairs in his cabinet. The Stressident was first stunned, then replied that she has no experience in handling cabinet matters, but the DG elect assured her that there will be guidance and no worry. After the phone call, the Stressident thought to herself... "Ain't I just about to end a chapter and suppose to HAVE SOME REST? Now it's a beginning of another new chapter?? Do I really want to be so into this L business?? Am I ready? ME???? %$&%*(##$$^!@^%&......."
The Stressident's story may have come to an end but another Distress Chair's story is going to begin??... Hmm, I wonder what is gonna happen next...

April Breakaway...
April is my month. My birthday falls in April. Yes, I'm an Aries, an energetic star sign.
This month, actually tomorrow I'm off from work for a 6 days breakaway. I hope the convention in Malacca will turn out fun. So far sounds good except for that I'll have to help up in the voting registration. Well, first time wearing Nyonya/Kebaya, actually quite excited.
Birthday coming up on Sunday, will be on the way up to KL from Malacca after the convention. Have whole group of frens together, how nice, feel blessed enough. Probably get myself something in KL as a birthday gift. Too bad, won't have gift and flowers from the love one this year... Well, God has treated me well enough so I've no complaints.

Leader & Visions
Few weeks ago, I was in my Japanese customer - SHARP's office for a conference call where I saw this SHARP's vision slogan for 2005 high up on the wall. It says "Set your sights at archieving the highest goals!!"
I personally like it very much. I think it's quite inspirational and motivational. About Japanese, undeniably their strengths are that they are very disciplined, united, vision driven, strict on standards, consistent and focus. That's why they can easily gather energy together to achieve their visions. This is very essential when it comes to team spirit. In a group or team, when the vision is clear, and the people are united to pursue it, the power is multiplied.
It's not easy really. For e.g. in the club, there are always members with different priorities and opinions. Therefore, in order to interest them, we need new and fun projects that most people will be keen on, at the same time the leader has to motivate the members, also to convey the vision, explain the purpose of projects etc before it was understood, consensus are reached, interest are raised, support are gathered.
Well, leadership is a long learning process but it's definitely an interesting process.
