CNY Celebration at The Spring

Since it's raining non-stop, I decided to cancel my outdoor activities and go shopping at The Spring instead.

Chinese New Year is approaching, so The Spring is decorated in CNY feel. Today there was celebration event going on here. It's The Spring's 1 year anniversary.

For those who has watched Astro Singing Contest last year, you should know him - 朱浩仁.

Then, there were these two from Singapore...

Yeap, it's 戚玉武 the actor in The Little Nyonya (小娘惹) AND..... 范文芳 Fann Wong, the cool actress in Jack Neo's films.

Today she is not really like that gangster 女老大 in 'Ah Long Pte. Ltd' or that bossy lady boss in 'Just Follow Law'. In fact she is very slim, fair, lady like... and pretty. Anyway I like her acting in those films.

Okay lah, at least today turns out to be not too boring.

"Change" - Kimura Takuya

Due to my severe back pain, I can't go anywhere today except staying at home watching DVD. Today I finished a Jap series 'Change' by my favorite Kimura Takuya. This time, he played a politician who later turned into Jap PM, WOW!!

The story was about a primary school teacher who accidentally won the election campaign and started his politician life. He was then used as a puppet to become a temporary Jap PM due to the great support he had from the Jap people who loved his honest character. Slowly he started to really understand what politics was about... but decided he wanted to use his position to really fight for the people. In the end, he won the battle against the politician who tried to manipulate him, and became a real hero.


Again, Kimura Takuya didn't let me down, still handled the role well. It's seldom that a male actor can lead the whole 10 episodes story alone and still not bore the audience. Hmm, he is good.

Beautiful + Handsome - Isabella Leong

In some way, I admire people that have a face that can transform between male and female, like some of the magazine models, and those Japanese comic characters. I previously found my Takuya that has this look. For a male, I am quite particular that the face must not be too girly (as if there are powder on it, cannot tahan). What I admire is features that are sharp, fine and cute. Recently I'm excited to find another asian face that can look both beautiful yet handsome, i.e. Isabella Leong. Even though she is only 19 years old, she looks gorgeous. Her pix look like Cecilia Cheung but she has got her own 氣質 that is very different from Cecilia. Furthermore, she can act well (best actress nominee in few Hong Kong film awards). A smart, quiet and humble girl. She has got that 'WOW factor' that I like.

Kekkon Dekinai Otoko

Another interesting Japanese series. Hiroshi Abe is an architect as well as a weird loner who persisted on his own way, own preference, own habits, very indifferent. To him, to entertain people with different concern and interest is time wasting but in fact his heart is very lonely. There were few single ladies in the series whose life crossed over with him every now and then. One is the young cute neighbour, another is a 30+ female doctor, and his assistant. Anyway I'm just on the 2nd disc, another 5-6 to go. So far so interesting and funny.

By the way, in this series the 30+ doctor was described as 'parking her car in the garage' after breaking up with her b.f. long time ago... I think Ying must have watched this one before, that's why she described me like that before... haha. Similar to Jou's 'taxi light'. Nowadays, to be single is miserable in other's eyes... married = happily ever after??

Takuya Kimura

I just finished watching a Japanese series 'Engine' by my favorite Takuya Kimura. He actually makes me cried watching it. Few months ago I watched his another series 'A Splendid Family'. He also makes me cried. What can I say... after all these years he is still so cute. Don't know why, I just love him so much... I think he reminds me very much of my childhood puppy love.

Amazing Amazing Amazing...

Some pix from the final episode of the Amazing Race Asia... look at the first 2 pix below, guess which airport is it at the background??.... Yeap, the last stop was in Malaysia... more precisely, IT'S IN KUCHING, SARAWAK!!!! WOW, THEY WERE HERE!!!

After receiving their clue at the Menara Kuala Lumpur, the final 3 Teams flew to Kuching, and located the marked cars in the car park, before proceeding to self-drive themselves to Kuching downtown, where a cat statue would lead them to their next clue.

This time, the clues were located at the Cat statue, the Old Courthouse, India Street Mall with the Detour, which all Teams chose to assemble a wooden bench based on a series of photographs, without any instructions.

Next stop was Sarawak Cultural Village where the Team members were to find the clue from one of the traditional houses there and to shoot darts through a blowpipe to hit three pineapples each.

Joe Jer & Zabrina and Sandy & Francesca finished before Andrew & Syeon and made their way to the Permai Rainforest Resort. Zabrina and Francesca had chosen to take part in the Roadblock, and having arrived first, Zabrina was soon up in the trees.

Zabrina eventually finished the course first, and then she and Joe Jer received the final clue in The Amazing Race Asia – directing them to make their way on foot to Damai Beach, to take a flagged speedboat to Baku National Park, where they had to search the mangrove boardwalks for the final Pit Stop. This was the finish line, and the first Team to cross it would win the prize money of US$100,000!!!

At this point, the race was really close, with Joe Jer & Zabrina in the lead, and Sandy & Francesca close behind. Eventually, Joe Jer and Zabrina made it first to the final Pit Stop, making them the first ever winners of The Amazing Race Asia, and the first all-female Team to win an Amazing Race!!

According to Amazing Race tradition, all the other Teams were waiting at the final Pit Stop for the winners... After racing through 14 cities, in 8 countries, travelling over 39,000km – Joe Jer and Zabrina were announced as the official winners of The Amazing Race Asia.


Well, what makes me really excited was the fact that the final pit stop actually took place in Kuching. Guess this place does have its charm!!
