Another interesting Japanese series. Hiroshi Abe is an architect as well as a weird loner who persisted on his own way, own preference, own habits, very indifferent. To him, to entertain people with different concern and interest is time wasting but in fact his heart is very lonely. There were few single ladies in the series whose life crossed over with him every now and then. One is the young cute neighbour, another is a 30+ female doctor, and his assistant. Anyway I'm just on the 2nd disc, another 5-6 to go. So far so interesting and funny.
By the way, in this series the 30+ doctor was described as 'parking her car in the garage' after breaking up with her b.f. long time ago... I think Ying must have watched this one before, that's why she described me like that before... haha. Similar to Jou's 'taxi light'. Nowadays, to be single is miserable in other's eyes... married = happily ever after??

Maybe you can find out the statistics of couples who are happily married ever after. I think for Asian, we do value marriages but not for ang mo. Song song tu li hun.
i say if your taxi/car still has petrol, and reasonably road-worthy... and still 'looking good' nuf to drive ;).... take it out for a ride sometime. very sayang to leave a perfectly good car in the garage, u know... *hehe*
btw, marriage doesn't equal happily ever after. nothing is permanent. everything takes effort and work. but must be willing to take that chance in the first place.... :)

and this show... yep, i think i did mention to you... in fact, the part that moved me most is the last part, when the girl directly express to him, using the dodgeball scenario... it's just sooooo sweet... and i like him in a way as he's not that idiotic as not even to understand what the gal's talking about...
that's why this show won the award...
married doesn't equal to "happily ever after", that's the wrong concept, and that's what stop people...
cos, people don't believe in 'happily ever after' anymore...

marriage make you realise who you actually are... and what you actually are capable or incapable of doing...

Yeap I like the dodgeball description too, it's the '經典金句' from this movie. I can always remember those classic phrases from the movie. Dodgeball is one of them.
About marriage (or BGR in general), I don't really agree it makes u realise who u actually are but it makes u become another u that u didn't know u could be. One day when one is out of the relationship, one may find the old oneself back. That is the real u without relationship. My personal experience.
