I had my sweeatest dreams in the past two days after an exhausting weekend...
Well, the "Skills & Talent Demostration by Persons with Disabilities" project went well. The "3 Little Pigs" sketch at the Oscar Nite went well too... *phew* when people said it's so easy to be the stressident, this and that... well...they've just never tried it themselve...and I always just smile and kept quiet.
I was so touched listening to the speeches from the reps of each home/society on stage about this S&T demo project. One even said he has never seen such kind of project being done in his 30 years with the home.
Imagine it all started with just an idea in mind, with pure good intention, thinking of linking the disabled person back with the world, let them feel the self worth. Then a plan was worked out, then we saw part and part of the dream came real... the setup, the participation from the homes, the wide coverage of publicity voicing out the needs for the disabled group. Then... it's the smiles on the face of these disabled ppl and the appreciation words from them that makes all the effort worthwhile.
To me, sitting there looking around, hearing the speeches, thinking back to few months ago when it was just an idea that ppl doubted it will work... my tears filled my eyes, seeing the results of the hard work from all the dreamers and the believers.
Yeap, it's worth to go for this challenge really. What is more satisfying than seeing a kind dream like this came true? In this journey to serve, this is what I'm striving for and what touches my heart.
Thanks to you all...
